Open Propaganda: A sleazy attempt to fan the flames of war.
Last week, many newspaper subscribers across the United States were surprised to discover a DVD inserted into their Sunday paper. The video, which can be viewed in its entirety on YouTube, is entitled Obsession: Radical Islam's War With the West and portends to compare the threat of radical Islamism with that of Nazi Germany prior to World War II. The DVD's release was timed to match the upcoming elections, and distribution of the DVD was almost entirely within swing states.
Almost immediately, newspapers began receiving complaints for their inclusion of the DVD, which was funded by The Clarion Fund, a group set up to combat “the most urgent threat of radical Islam.” Bloggers in the U.S. and abroad have expressed anger at both the distribution of the DVDs and the related crime.

A Diamond's Eye View of the World, an American who blogs about Lebanon, reminds us that we have the right to protest the distribution of this DVD, sharing the Clarion Fund's address and urging us to write polite letters:

I feel most Americans and Muslims should SEE and HEAR what the dvd is really about.

It in NO way tells us Islam and Muslims are bad.
What it IS about, is Radical Muslims, NOT Muslims as a whole.
It also states that this is not the view of most peace loving Muslims, but that of RADICALS!
Please people STOP always trying to read more into things than they really are.
It's NOT propaganda, or political, it is the facts, and if reasonable people see it for what it is they shouldn't take offense!

Yea, you are absolutely right - most Muslims are peace loving people. Unfortunately most Americans cannot differentiate between Muslims.

How convenient that this is released in proximity to the known terrorist's campaign. Remember, any friend of G. Gordon Liddy is a friend of the American people.

ReplyDeleteI completely agree with your assessment of the documentary. It does not slander anyone who is not for Jihad, American or foreign. American better wake up fast. Simply because GW Bush policies have kept us (Americans) safe since 9/11, is no reason to think these extreme radical Islamic terrorists are our friends or do not intend to harm us. They do! I don't hear "papa" screaming about ACORN. Certainly, they're not trying to influence the vote in the swing states with Obama's recent $800,000 campaign contribution. Hogwash! I applaud the timing of this free gift whether it is meant to simply inform or influence. Every American can think for themselves. The facts in the DVD are correct. Please watch it and make your own mind up. I welcome all peace seeking people's to my country, but the only Religious group that I know of trying to kill me are of the Muslim faith.
